hello.
today was the first day of school. the whole experience was quite awkward for me. i spent most of the time feeling self-concious about my age and my pathetic knowledge of the bible. many times, the lecturer will quote some verses or ask the students to cross reference books of the bible. whenever she turned her glance on me, i would pretend that i did not notice and look through her. sigh her glance burned right into my pride man. i feel like a total loser and a newbie. class, A+. shawn, faaaail.
one good thing though, in the process of doing my homework, i am learning to see a different side of God. mankind is fallen and most of the times, are stubborn in their ways. they think that their way is the best. even christians tried to accomplish God's promises through their own means. we are insecure and afraid... and God somehow, is just this big, compassionate, complex person that loves His creation. it is kinda cool how God can tolerate our nonsense. if it was me, i think i would probably breathed fire on the missions booklet and struck lightning at jessie... that will be nice. :) ack, oh well. i am christian. i am supposed to be kind and loving like my Maker.
today wasn't that much of a mess la. i absorbed tidbits here and there. but in the near end of the class, i was fighting with sleep. i think the lecturer saw that (we are a really small class... a class of 5) and she ended the class early. she probably felt sorry for me. hahahah aiyah its super funny.
God is good! two days ago i went to this really huge christian bookstore to look for my textbook and it was out of stock. some crazy dude bought ALL their stock. selfish jerk! i was frantic and shouted a complain to God in the middle of the store. "how? God how?? the class will think that i am some punk trying to play play only!" after that small performance, nicholas sow and i went to a nearby market for some lunch. market was closed but we noticed a small bookstore. it so happens that this small bookstore has my textbook! the last copy didn't sell because it was damaged. i got it at a dirt cheap price, $12! The original price of the text book was $40. it is really cool and i am starting to be aware of how much God is taking care of me and shaping my path everyday. this is real special.
so anyways,
happy birthday dad.
happy birthday JL. :)
